How to Play Blackjack by a Las Vegas Dealer
I am looking foward to playing Blackjack for the 1st time too.
My mother has me a nervous wreck though, after telling me a story how she pissed people off and effected others hands.
Where is the best place for a new player to sit?
Are there any basic rules I should know?
Like when I can touch the chips and when I can't.
I know the basic signals for hit and stand.
What else is there?
For split and DD I guess.
Any other tidbits you can offer?
Best place to sit is anywhere but the last seat on the left of the table.
This is called 3rd base, but we wont get into that now.
Basic rules can differ from casino to casino.
Some places allow the handling of cards, some don't.
Usually, the higher limits allow handling.
Basically, if you don't see people touching, cards at the table before u sit down, assume you cannot.
There really are no dedicated hand signals for split and double down.
Just place the matching craps products on the left of the original bet.
Double down you can put less than your original bet.
I know of no casino that does not allow this since this iks afavorable bet for the player in most cases.
Assuming you follow good double down stratedgy One thing I always say is DO NOT WORRY WHAT OTHERS THINK.
I am a very experienced BJ player and I don't care if someone makes a bad move in an 8 deck shoe or not.
I have won lots when a player made a supposedly bad move and have lost a lot when 3rd base follows basic strategy.
It will all even out, trust me.
Usually the people who get upset do not know what they are doing either.
There is a lot to know in blackjack, and one person making a hit or stand is not gonna amount toi a hill of beans in the longrun assuming multiple deck play Single Deck can be totally different.
A lot of 1 deck and 2 deck games offer reduced payoffs for Blackjacks.
This is good att spela blackjack pity in the long run, just avoid these.
Most important, have fun, sit with people who look personable and are haviving fun too.
This is also a sign at maybe a winning table.
Let me know if you have any other questions!
Play your first round of games at a five dollar table in the Boardwalk casino, durring daylight hours.
There will be a lot of other first time players there.
The dealers are great at explaining the rules and conventions.
After an hour or so, you should be confident enough to loose your money anywhere on the strip.
Have fun playing, and if you are at a table where others are not fun, just find another table.
Also, goto There is a lot of useful information there.
Sit in the blackjack etiquette of the layout.
Players are most sensitive to 1st base the first player to receive cards and 3rd base the last player.
You are not blackjack etiquette to touch your chips from the time the first card goes out to the first player until you are paid by the dealer if you win, or the dealer raps the table to indicate a push.
Of course, if you lose, they're no longer yours!
In a game where the cards are face up, don't touch the cards.
In a gome where the cards are dealt face down, only use one hand to touch the cards.
DD is signaled by extending 1 finger, indicating 1 card.
Split is two fingers in a V.
Surrender is done by drawing a horizontal line in front of you.
Buy a basic BJ strategy card.
Most casinos will have no problem with you using it at the table.
My advise is definitely sit in the middle of the table.
When you first get to the casino watch, listen, and learn.
People like myself can get very angry when new people come to the table and do not know what they are doing.
When in doubt ask someone sitting next to you their opinion on how to play your hand.
Most on phone blackjack will be willing to help you out.
Wes, Wait until the end of a shoe or ask the other players if its ok if you jump in.
Sit wherever you want, many times you won't have a choice.
It shouldn't matter to the other players.
Sometimes people forget that BJ is a game of chance and they will incorrectly blame someone else for their own bad luck.
Ask for advice if you want, people are happy to give it.
On rare ocassions you will encounter someone like Marni or others that may make a rude or ignorant comment.
Try to ignore them, they never know as much as they think they do.
Have fun best thing u can do is, 1st read a book or 2, take the free lessons given by the casino.
I don't know where gnjis?
You cannot touch the cards, regardless of the table limits, when the dealer is dealing the cards face up.
If the dealer deals face down a single or double deck gameyou can touch the cards and pick them up -- use one hand only.
You can place your bet only before the dealer starts to deal.
Once the dealer starts to deal, you cannot touch the chips that have been bet, until the hand is over.
Exception: if you get a natural, you can rake in your winnings before the rest of the table has finished the hand.
The ones blackjack variation are yours, that have not been bet, you can fondle to your heart's content.
If you want to double or split, you still can't touch the chips that are already bet.
You place your new just click for source next to the old one.
Often the dealer will move your stack.
It doesn't mean that you did it wrong.
If you bet more than one denomination chip, the larger goes on the bottom and the smaller ones on top.
When you buy in, in between rounds, of course, put your cash in between the betting spot and the dealer, not on your betting spot.
You can put it in the insurnce strip, since that blackjack etiquette not active at this time.
If you need to change a chip into lower denominations, put check this out chip out front as well.
When you tip the dealer, you have two options -- giving the dealer the chip s or betting the chip s for the dealer.
To bet the tip, you place it immediately in front of your bet closer to the dealer.
If you win, the dealer will pay your bet and the tip bet, and will then take the tip chips.
So don't you rake in the tip chip and pay-off!
I've seen someone do that, and he was very embarrassed when he realized what he had done.
The dealer said nothing.
The dealers ar usually very knowledgable about what the basic strategy calls for, and are happy to tell you.
Sometimes the dealer will tell you when you are making a bad move, by their hesitation or even by asking you.
For example, if you are supposed to split or double down, and you indicate to hit, the dealer might give you a questioning look to warn you.
Also, blackjack etiquette the dealer knows your play assuming you are consistentthe dealer might gently remind you -- for example if you always hit on 16 or less if the dealer is showing a 7 or above, and you tell the dealer you are standing, the dealer might announce your total, just to be sure you haven't miscalculated.
In my experience, the dealers almost always take care of their customers, swim up blackjack the full extent that the casino allows!
So much of the play is automatic that blackjack etiquette is very litle need for signals.
Learn basic strategy, and buy or download a basic strategy card.
And then have fun and win lots of money.
And tip blackjack etiquette dealer interblock blackjack strategy the good service and fun time you have.
Two recommendations: 1 Play a shoe game rather than a single-deck game.
In this game, you don't touch the cards directly no confusing etiquetteyou just gesture with your hands what to do.
Single-decks are good if you're a counter, not otherwise.
For split and DD you simply add more money, that's what the casinos want : 2 Play in casinos in the north strip, they are somewhat more relaxed.
Slots-of-fun has lots of inexperienced players although the dealers are not always niceor in the which is outdated but very friendly.
I have also had good experience withso go figure.
The best thing to do is to observe the dealer for a few minutes and see how she interacts with the players.
Someone's bound to make mistakes.
Some dealers are scared shitless about that, some are really friendly and helpful.
And if you're going to play, make sure to read something on money management.
Just betting the same bet every time is not a good idea.
Don't get all crazy.
If there is an empty seat, sit down give the dealer your money and have a good time.
If your at a good table everybody will be having fun.
If people get to serious, move to the next table.
Have fun and win lots of money I don't like following the "appropriate" strategy is alla bout gambling.
If I want to split tens or stick on 13 if the delaer has a 6 showing then I will.
If other players don't like it then tough.
